How Is Endometriosis Diagnosed and Treated?

Endometriosis is definitively diagnosed through histologic evaluation of diseased tissue, typically obtained during laparoscopy.

While imaging and symptoms provide strong clinical guidance, surgery remains the only way to confirm disease.

In advanced cases, superficial treatment may not be sufficient. Deep lesions often require careful excision performed by experienced surgeons trained in complex pelvic anatomy.

To determine whether excision surgery is appropriate, and when conservative care may still be effective.
