A multimodal approach to healing pelvic pain includes helping patients understand the mind-body connection, empowering them through education, and giving them the tools they’ll need to use on their journey to healing, guided by our team of pelvic pain specialists.
We know that your pain is real and we will never normalize your pain or symptoms. Chronic pain is a real problem with real physical causes – not something that is “just in your head.” We also know that your experience of pain is greatly affected by the interplay between your body and your brain. Our goal is to empower patients to break the neural and nutritional habits that can contribute to long-lasting pelvic pain and dysfunction.
On average, patients with chronic pain have been in pain for 10 years, and when chronic pain is experienced for this long, it causes the brain to normalize this pain, allowing the body to fall into a state of anxiety and stress, leading to a delay in healing. Additionally, some foods that we eat can cause inflammation, enhancing the pain patients are already feeling, also inhibiting the healing process.
Our goal is to give patients behavioral mechanizations and techniques that help reset the mind to not being in chronic pain because the mind and body are so interconnected.
Our team of health coaches partner with our patients on their healing journey and educate them on nutrition so they can nourish them and promote healing within their bodies.
