Gautam Shrikhande, MD

Harvard and Cornell/Columbia Trained Vascular Surgeon

Dr. Gautam Shrikhande is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM), where he is helping redefine the future of chronic pelvic pain care through innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered treatment.

A Harvard- and Columbia-trained vascular surgeon, Dr. Shrikhande was inspired early in his career to take on complex surgical challenges. Following his training, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University, where he combined clinical practice with academic medicine. After witnessing his wife and co-founder, Dr. Allyson Shrikhande, navigate her own postpartum pelvic pain, he recognized the need for a better approach to care. Together, they founded PRM to expand access to the patented PRM Protocol™ and provide patients with effective, compassionate treatment.

Since its founding, PRM has evolved into a national network of multidisciplinary Centers of Excellence that bring together pelvic pain specialists and surgeons to deliver comprehensive care. Dr. Shrikhande is passionate about improving early recognition of pelvic pain conditions, reducing years of unnecessary suffering, and helping every patient return to the highest possible quality of life.

In addition to leading PRM’s continued growth, Dr. Shrikhande serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Tufts Medical Center. He remains focused on advancing research, expanding access to specialized care, and developing the next generation of highly trained pelvic pain providers.
