Healing Through Art: A Community Event Supporting Black and Brown Women with Endometriosis

This Endometriosis Awareness Month, PRM is proud to partner with Endo Black for Healing Through Art, a powerful, community-centered event designed to support, educate, and empower Black and Brown women living with endometriosis.

Hyattsville, Maryland
March 7–8

This is more than an event.
It’s a space for connection, validation, education, and access to care.

Why This Event Matters

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, yet not all patients experience the same path to diagnosis and treatment.

Black and Brown women are more likely to face:

  • Longer delays in diagnosis

  • Pain that is minimized or dismissed

  • Barriers to specialty care

  • Underrepresentation in medical research

That means many patients spend years, even decades, searching for answers.

Healing Through the Arts was created to change that.

By bringing together community, education, and creative expression, this event helps patients feel:

  • Seen
  • Heard
  • Believed
  • Supported
Learn the symptoms of endometriosis

Why PRM Partnered with Endo Black

At the core of both PRM and Endo Black is the same mission:

Expanding access to high-quality endometriosis care.

This includes:

  • Increasing awareness of endometriosis symptoms

  • Educating patients on their treatment options

  • Improving access to excision surgery

  • Reducing delays to diagnosis

When we work together, the impact is greater, reaching more patients and helping them find expert care sooner.

What is excision surgery for endometriosis?

How This Event Helps Patients Navigate Their Care

Many patients are never told their symptoms could be endometriosis.

Events like this help you:

  • Recognize the signs of endometriosis
  • Learn what expert care looks like
  • Understand your treatment options
  • Advocate for yourself in medical settings
  • Connect with a supportive community

Education shortens the time to diagnosis.
Community reduces isolation.
Access to specialists changes outcomes.

A Shared Commitment to Equity in Women’s Healthcare

For too long, many patients, especially Black and Brown women, have been told their pain is:

  • “Normal”

  • “Just bad periods”

  • “Something to live with”

We know that is not true.

Supporting Endo Black means supporting a future where:

  • Every patient is believed

  • Every patient has access to expert care

  • Every patient has the opportunity for long-term relief
