Compassion and validation. Endometriosis is such a difficult condition for patients to live with, and being heard is always the first step. Treatment plans result from patient collaboration, and interventions are undertaken within the full scope of lifetime treatment goals. I treat each endometriosis patient as an individual.

The recognition and treatment of endometriosis has improved over the course of my career, and I’m ecstatic to be part of the team on the cutting edge of diagnosis and treatment. PRM’s commitment to education is unmatched. A clear understanding of endometriosis is important for all patients considering treatment, even when surgery is not the right answer.

Surgery is often just one piece of the treatment puzzle. My obligation to educate patients on the disease process as well as symptom minimization strategies before and after surgery is paramount. So much of the long-term outcome depends on combined management plans with other members of the clinical team.

I have spent the past two decades performing thousands of complex gynecologic cases in the DMV with Kaiser Permanente and George Washington University, with a sterling surgical and medico-legal record. I give each patient my undivided attention and am sure to explain each step in the treatment process.

On surgery: All complex procedures are performed laparoscopically, rather than robotically, resulting in fewer, smaller incision sites. I have spent a career committed to outstanding surgical results and minimal recovery times. When you are in my care, you are my top priority.

Fertility is always top of mind, especially for younger patients. My approach is careful and conservative—I work to protect ovarian function, preserve the uterus, and avoid removing any reproductive organs unless absolutely necessary. And I always collaborate with fertility specialists when needed.

Thorough. Personable. Humorous. Attentive. Dr. Friedman did my surgery in March and he explained everything every step of the way and is not cold or off putting which some doctors can be. I was told by another physician, “he is the best to diagnose and treat me” I agree…Thank you for taking good care of me and for being a very attentive doctor with a huge personality.
