We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Mariah Sankey-Thomas, a seasoned gynecologist and endometriosis surgeon, to our PRM team in Chicago, Illinois.

We’re excited to announce that Dr. Mariah Sankey-Thomas, MD, FACOG, a board-certified gynecologic surgeon and endometriosis excision specialist, will be joining PRM’s Center of Excellence in Chicago this September.

Dr. Sankey-Thomas brings a wealth of expertise and a patient-first approach to treating complex cases of endometriosis, with a special focus on fertility-sparing techniques. She has performed over 500 complex pelvic surgeries and treats all stages of endometriosis,  including disease involving the bladder, rectum, diaphragm, ovaries, and appendix.

A Mission to Shorten the Diagnosis Journey

Endometriosis patients often endure years of pain and an average of eight different doctors before receiving a diagnosis. Dr. Sankey-Thomas is deeply committed to changing that. She believes specialists have a responsibility to educate both patients and providers to shorten the diagnostic timeline, slow disease progression, and provide relief sooner.

A Holistic, Individualized Approach

No two endometriosis cases are the same. Dr. Sankey-Thomas begins each patient’s journey by understanding their unique goals — whether that’s managing chronic pain, preserving fertility, or addressing abnormal bleeding, and then builds a personalized care plan that may integrate surgery, medical management, and rehabilitative therapies.

She also emphasizes pre- and post-habilitation as an essential part of care. Preparing the body before surgery and supporting recovery afterward can help reduce symptoms, speed healing, and improve long-term results.
